The problem
Indian institutes run on six disconnected tools: attendance in a paper register, fees in Excel, marks in another Excel, notices on WhatsApp and videos on a drive link. Nobody can say by Friday how much fee is actually outstanding, so follow-up happens a month late. Meanwhile the office answers the same question — "kitni fees baaki hai?" — forty times a week by hand, in Hindi, opening a spreadsheet each time.
The approach
Built the platform as 16 toggleable modules over one login: admissions, academic structure, attendance, fees and receipts, tests, content library, notices, staff and HR. Attendance was designed offline-first because the classroom is exactly where the signal is not. The AI assistant answers parents in Hindi, English or Hinglish, typed or spoken, and routes most questions to a direct data read so they cost nothing per answer — with every reply scoped server-side to the asker's own child. Tenant separation is enforced at the database layer on every query rather than by remembering to add a filter, covered by an automated test suite where a third of the cases exist only to try to break that wall.
The outcome
Gapless receipt numbering that survives two counters collecting in the same second, unmetered AI answers at zero marginal cost, full data export in open formats on request, and a published price with no revenue share.
